Cocos Keeling 10 Cent

Out of the collection pops up a piece of plastic, with an ID number and identified as 10 Cents! So what's it worth we say, mint condition, shiny plastic, perhaps AU$1. Search of eBay sold indicates a 5 Cent item of the same date and with later ID number, yes in a fancy plastic box, reportedly sold for in excess of US$600, or AU$860. Is this believable?
That's quite an amazing find ... I'd never heard of these tokens and a quick search substantiates your findings https://londoncoins.co.uk/?page=Pastresults&searchterm=Keeling+Cocos+Islands+10+cents&category=8&searchtype=1

Also, this article contains some interesting history regarding the token

Thanks for responding, thought it may be an interest to some members. As indicated previously on other FB sites, now halfway through a collection left to us by my Father and Mother in Law, to date some 33 counties reviewed/loaded in alphabetical order, just finishing Japan, so much, much more to find! What to do when finished, million dollar question
