I don't think there are different variations of the 1999 P Quarter... there just wasn't very many minted of them, 20,000. They were used for testing or something?
aww man you're lucky that's a pretty rare coin i guess-- I've looked through rolls as well and have never found it. It was apparently issued for testing because it's a different type of metal (multi-ply plated steel)

The coin isn't even valued in both the charlton catalogue nor the canadian coin news' 'trends' section
I would do that more, but I always feel awkward (i'm just a teen) and they get annoyed when I bring back the un-needed quarters (which they feel they have to recount)
anyways sometimes they're nice and actually search through their drawers for me
Interesting, never looked into it, don't really give our quarters much thought because they're always around. There was a 1999-P Test Token Set, testing new plating. The 1999-P 25 cent coin in BU condition, can be purchased on eBay for $9 and $12 from a Canadian coin store.
