Hello fellow collectors:
NOTE: I'm NOT a banknote collector and I don't know much about the formalities of banknote classification (yet).
I'm trying to add a bunch of emergency banknotes issued by different Argentinean provinces in the 1980s (Australes) and 1990s (Pesos convertibles). I see the catalog is all over the place with these, and I think someone should set a guideline of how these should be treated.
These are found in Krause's 'Standard Catalog of World Paper Money - Specialized Issues'
Some are under "Argentina" and entered as "Local banknotes" including:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note224481.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note224488.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note229288.html
Others are under "Argentina -> Provinces" and even so they are wrongly placed, as Salta's banknote under Tucuman:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note222585.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note203156.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note222584.html
IMHO these are provincial (bonds & titles) issued not by the national government but by each of the provinces and, as such, should be placed as Argentina Provincial (Jujuy, Salta, Tucuman, La Rioja, Buenos Aires, are the ones I have), but I'll follow the lead of the experts in this field.
Thanks,
Alex.
