To buy or not to buy? Indian princely state coins [opgelost]

4 berichten • 85 keer bekeken
I just found these two coins for sale on eBay. I’m fairly certain it’s two of these (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces16619.html), so I’m not asking for an ID. But can any Indian coin experts help me on how much I should pay for them? I’ve always wanted a coin from one of the princely states, but I need to know if these are real and how much I should be prepared to pay for them. No measurements were given in the listing so I just have my eyes to go by in terms of detecting a fake. I’d also like to somewhat recoup my losses by selling the other coin. Any help would be appreciated.
These are interesting and common coins. Melt value about $1. NGC lists book value of about $5 in VF, $6 in XF.

I would aim to pay less than book price, maybe $3-4 each in VF or better condition.
Also I would suggest looking for a single coin if that's what you want. Buying an extra one and reselling it may not be worth the time and effort.
These are very common coins and here in India they sell for around Rs.500 a piece for the coin in XF or better condition. Haven't seen or heard about fakes of these coins.

Thanks! I’ll probably put £10 as my maximum bid. And I can rest knowing that high-quality fakes aren’t made for this type.
