this has been in my family for a very long time. All I know about it is it's got the born date marriage date and death date of princess christine elizabeth, whom later on went onto become a duchess when she married her husband. Any info on the rarity or partial to full translation would be appreciated! It's a cool piece!
Some of the lettering on the reverse is ...
Frau Fr. Christiana Elisabetha geb. Herz. von Schleßw. Hollstein Hn:
Johann Ernstens desäle tern H. z. S. J. C. u. Berg Hertzgel. Gemahlin ward geb. d. 23. Jun.

Always important to indicate the weight and diameter but you indicated Taler in your title.
exists also as a 1/2 Taler.

Here the catalogue references for the Taler

In the excerpt Zac posted it's called a 'Sterb(e)gulden' which would be a 2/3 Thaler or was Gulden just a word for big coin in the 1700s?
Yes that would be 2/3 of a Thaler, but I couldn‘t seem to find any in that weight.
the terms Sterbetaler, Sterbehalbtaler and Sterbegroschen also exist.
