Anyway just 2 humble coins for a kick off.
It's my favourite condition for a coin Extremely/Extra Fine. Of course the Florin may be more in the about EF to even super high VF level. It has good lustre and the usual weak strike of the King is present.
1929 British Florin, almost EF to probably EF This was a bargain at $10 NZ
New Zealand Sixpence 1948 also in EF with a ding. This coin is very common in
VG to gFine condition (Think 10 - 50 cents) but in EF they are really scarce (Try $10 - $50), I paid close to the lower figure for this beauty.
I love the lustre, you usually only see it on 1964 and 1965 dated coins.

I look at local Auctions that are held about 2 times a Year some times there are interesting coins and Notes other times nothing sometimes you strike it Lucky.
A lot of great adds for Sept! "Numis27" you sure got a large haul recently.

Got x4 25 Céntimos from 1937 - Nationalist or Franco side currency during Spanish Civil War. 3 of them are in quite good condition while one is in average condition

Seems to be possibly cleaned in the past and a clear coin ring on the Reverse suggesting it sat in a stack for years. Overall good Fine I would say.
The eagle eyed of you may notice why I paid nearly $200 for this very worn British half crown of Edward VII. I won't say why, just let you all guess.

I mean I for one could learn a whole lot more about them (All I have is the modern coins and a few aluminium communist era coins).

My Jubilee and Old Head Victorian Florins arrived, only had to wait 1 day
Jubilees - 1888, 1889 and 1891. The 1888 is a very nice piece (gFine) and 1891 not bad as its a scarce year (Fine/aFine) The 1889 was very much a melt price piece.
Close ups of the good level of detail on these old pieces.
The old heads less nice, but they only cost melt + 10% and they will do until I replace, the 1898 and 1901 are decent (VG - gVG) The 1893 was so worn (Good) the seller thought it was 1897, other coins is 1899 (aVG).
This will do in the Florin department for a while.

Emperor Aurelian - RESTITVT ORIENTIS: Minted after the defeat of Queen Zenobia and her Palmyrene Empire. You can see the personified Orient kneeling before the Emperor on the reverse:
And this Constantine I. follis with a really nice conditioned portrait but a ravaged reverse side:
The seller says its from his grandfather who saved old coins in the UK during the 1920s and 1930s, so some real context here.

and they are just the obverses - the reverses are in the other folder on top left.

I like 042 with the train on the reverse plus a train on the ribbon;

My first coin which I submitted to PCGS and just received today, Friday, September 18th.
Bought it at a local coin show in August. The honest wear and toning really drew me to it.
One of only 2 graded by PCGS and a darn fine looking coin for almost 400 years old.

Got 2 nice silver medals this week:
A Charles X coronation "Quinarius" from 1825 - I think Napoleon reinvented the tradition of throwing those little silver "coins" to the people in some events and Charles X continued it with this piece
And this nice 1972 medal celebrating the silver wedding of Queen Elizabeth II.
Not bought much this month! Still sorting through a massive bulk lot, found these two nice coins this morning which will go straight into my collection :)
1945 C and a 1952 - both have quite high values on Numista!
Additions yay! I'm hugely excited about some of these. Gonna include prices
1869 United States Assay Commission Medal. Silver. 33 mm. By William Barber. JK AC-5. Rarity-5. No Stars. AU-58 (NGC) - Not on Numista - $315
This is the replacement type for the original Assay Commission medal of 1869 with stars around the obverse border, which die was withdrawn from production early in the year due to a prominent break at star 5 (see below in the following lot). The Mint produced at least 40 silver impressions of this issue, 21 in February and 19 in April. This is the type that was probably actually distributed to Commission members (as opposed to its With Stars counterpart)
1904 USS California Launching So-Called Dollar - HK324 - GVF - Price paid: $140
I didn't research this one before bidding, as I didn't want to be constrained by logic. I really like it. It's also rare; less than 75 known and given an R-6 rating by Hibler & Kappen. I probably did overpay a little in hindsight, but thats ok.
The event was commemorated by the "N.S.G.W." (Native Sons of the Golden West), who were a fraternal order for preserving California history established in 1875. This medal was not sold but given to Members and friends of the N.S.G.W. at the launching event, which was mostly oratory, and took place at Woodward's Pavilion, San Francisco, CA.
1890 Cologne Medal - Exhibition of the art of war and military goods - EF/AU - $65
I've wanted this medal since spotting Apuking with it a while ago. Finally the opportunity presented itself. Note it's just gold plated, they were made in both gold and silver plated bronze. Apparently rare too? Perhaps Apuking knows more!
This is a common coin so not much to say, but I feel I paid a nice price for a slightly scarce variety. If you want to pick up one of these, ignore the price guide on numista. Under £20 is unrealistic for the low tide penny in any half decent grade. People probably just entered their penny on the wrong line.
Halfcrowns - 1835 EF~, 1844 EF, 1911 PR65
Some halfcrowns for Moneytane to look at The 1911 proof is new; the other 2 i need to see in hand to see if they are upgrades, but they were decent prices.
Oggy - Those Halfcrowns, I mean wow, early 19th century in that condition are scarce as hens teeth, especially William IV, you can find a pile of his coins in VG or lower condition, but not like that.

1983 and 1986 UK Uncirculated coin sets with usual flaws (1983 cloudy pound and 1986 damaged 1p) and the 83 does not have the New Pence Mule on the 2p.
The coins are nice though, the £2 coin is stunning!
Also a packet of 10 x £1 pound notes from a late 1970s ATM, £10 came out as bundle of low value notes!

Some additions recently acquired in a local shop near Lisbon and in a coin's market that happens every Sunday morning.
This three coins I think they were the first commemorative silver coins minted in Portugal. From the left to the right we have 1000 Réis, 500 Réis and 200 Réis celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the Discovery of India (1498-1898).
lovely coins.. I only have the 1000reis and still looking for the others. But I always laugh when I read the legend on the coins. India was well discovered and settled millennia ago, by well, the Dravidians and Aryans and had thriving civilisations when the Portuguese were still banging on metal and living in small villages. What the Portuguese discovered in 1498 was a sea route via the cape of good hope. But I suppose that would be too much to fit on a coin

This three and the Peninsular War coins from D. Manuel II are gorgeous. I'm still looking for the 1000 Réis 1910 because in good condition it is a bit pricy . And yes I think what was meant to be written in the coins was the discovery of the maritime path to India .
Worn 1922 Halfcrown, however the difference being the shield touches the crown, making it the scarce early variety. I only paid melt for it. Condition is high very good to low fine.
Here you can see the contrast, coin on right is more common, gap between the shield and crown (Known as the groove variety). Of course it does not help my other coin is VF+.
1984 and 1985 UK UNC sets, unlike the others I showed, these are faultless and nice.
