I would like name of issuer be changed:
Uruguay:
Bank of Eastern Republic of Uruguay to Bank of Oriental Republic of Uruguay.
I think is more accurate, and more reflecting the meaning of the Bank's name.

Regards,
Daniel.

Oriental and eastern are synonyms, no more accurate then the other it is only nearer to the letter count to the Spanish name (Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay).
Given that Oriental is in the full name of the country in both English and Spanish, it seems odd to choose to translate this to Eastern here.

Daniel is right.

Uruguay is the only country anywhere in the world that has 'Oriental' as part of its official long name.

'Bank of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay' is the correct English translation for the Central Bank's name in Spanish.

Thank you for trying help, but please keep in mind that Banco de la República and Banco Central are two differnt banks.

Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay (BROU - Bank of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay) was the currency issuer from 1896 to 1967. On 1967, from its creation, to date, the issuer is Banco Central del Uruguay (BCU - Central Bank of Uruguay). They are different institutions, both part of the state, and currently both are active.

BROU passed the currency issuing functions to BCU on 1967, and kept as a regular bank, promotion and financing private enterprises and individuals, and managing funds of the State.

BCU works as financial control bank, issuing of currency, management of financial themes, and controlling financial laws (evolution of the other State bank, private banks, financial entities, but does not as saving banks, security boxes, etc. Also has a section to promote and help numismatics, and a Uruguayan and foreign currency museum (has an impressing collection of nearly five hundred piggy banks from all the world, too). They keep the reserves of foreign currencies and precious metals as warranty of the issued money.
