I purchased a roll (25 coins) of 2012 Canada $2.00 coins from a guy online about 3 weeks ago. When I opened the coins yesterday, I discoved that the roll contained one $2.00 on each end of the roll. Between these 2 end coins, the roll was filled with steel washers (diameter same as $2.00 coin). I paid $65.00 for the roll (face value = $50.00) and only received 2 coins x $2.00 = $4.00 plus I have about one dollar worth of steel washers. I emailed the guy and he said that was how he received the coins and would not do anything to fix the problem.
I have heard a few stories about coin collectors ripping off other people for a profit... guess that is the way of the road! I would be mad too though!
Citeer: AmathorCRWell, that sucks indeed! I find it so dangerous to buy online... I've only bought a thing or two from amazon, never from ebay or anywhere in general.
95% + of the sellers on Ebay are quite okay.
Less than 5% and maybe less than 1% are scam artists.
You have to buy from well established seller with 100% positive feedback.
I still buy from up to 90% depending on the amount of ratings they have, as there are a lot of d*******s out there who are just there to cause anarchy and unrest; you're covered by paypal regardless !
