I'm sure you're familiar with the show Love It or List It. Now, I'm not rennovating or selling a house, but it has to do with a coin I bought today. For 5 dollars today I bought a Crete 1901 50 Lepta which turns out to be worth no more than $55. It's a really rare coin and I was at first going to sell it to buy some Japanese imperial coins, but after having it for a few hours today I kinda like the coin, not to mention it's silver.
So, should I love it... or list it?

I'll put a photo up for you Rick. I don't know if I'll ever come across the coin again, but if I do, the condition would probably be better than the state it's in right now.
Don't you just hate it when you have choices like this, especially as a coin collector?

Citeer: SmartOneKgDo you think the condition could be better?
I didn't post earlier because I didn't want to bring it down but since you asked my own personal opinion is that the grade is fairly poor. It's a cool coin and all but if it is worth that much in that grade then I would sell it on and go out and speculate some more. It's just my opinion and I respect the other guys that say keep it - at the end of the day, you've got to go with your gut feeling, good luck

I'd agree with Rick. The coin's condition is hardly collection grade. IMHO the purchase price was very close to what it is worth. Coins in such condition can give credit only to a beginner's collection and very rarely constitute a good investment. If you can get $10 for it now, sell without hesitation and thank the buyer for the purchase.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
I certainly think I'll make more than $5 or even $10 bucks off it. If any you guys want it, we could exchange it for some Asian silver but probably not. I'd rather just get moolah.
Oh and Joseph I make the puns up myself, thanks for asking.
