What's the best image for a note?

I've recieved a modification request to replace the images for this note https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note223048.html with these images

There's no doubt that these images are higher resolution but the owner has added their own "watermark" bottom right. My question is, do we prefer the lower resolution, unaltered images or the higher resolution but defaced images?

Hi ceh2019,
You raise a good point.
Quite a few banknotes have watermarks of the person submitting them.
I have always wondered if this was appropriate. Both sides of the argument seem justified....protecting copyright and all that!
I prefer higher resolution any time. If possible, I always use cgb photos when adding notes to the catalog. The higher resolution is better than a small watermark.
I dislike watermarked pictures with passion and if it would be only a marginal improvement I would reject the request. In this case it is a significant improvement (Banknote museum is a nice source but the pictures are not the best) and I'd wave it through but would mark the page on my to-do-list as "watermarked main pictures" and try to find some better pictures without markings in the future.
I never liked watermark images in the catalog, but this certain case is not a distracting watermark (and if you don't play close attention, you might not really see it). There are others that are far more distracting in the catalog...

The higher resolution here even adds extra points on why this one should be okay.
Thanks for all the contributions. I shall allow this edit as it seems we're all happy with it (even if that's with some reservations).
