All that aside, you should be very cautious in treating the Numista rarity index as an indication of an item's value. That number is generated based on self-reported Numista collections rather than some kind of authoritative database . An item with a high rarity could be very uncommon, but it could just as easily be something so common that nobody here bothers to collect it or something so obscure that it only appeals to a very small number of collectors. It's better to use an established price guide while always remembering that the value of an item is ultimately determined only by what someone will actually pay for it.
