Hi All.

I have this 1/2 kreuzer

19mm

My conclusion is that it's from the Margraviate of Baden- Durlach. The only entry I can find for a Margraviate of Baden-Durlach 1/2 kreuzer is

½ Kreuzer - Karl Friedrich - Margraviate of Baden-Durlach – Numista

Is there no entry for the 1772 version, do I need another eye test or am I wrong about Baden-Durlach?

Any help would be great. Thanks
I would say yes KM#124 1772 H : W - Johann Georg Worscheler 1760-79

P.S. please crop your pictures in the future there is so much unnecessary background, makes thing easier to look at.
My first impression is that I am not convinced that 3rd digit is a 7 ( possibly a 3?), nor the 4th digit is a 2 although pretty likely.
There is a 1/2 Kreuzer 1772 in Krause, KM# 124 (not yet on Numista). The reverse is a perfect match, the obverse seems not (although the condition of your coin is bad):

Your coin seems to have a rounder cartouche on the obverse, with a more horizontal banner, just like the coin on Idolenz' link.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am basing my identification on this picture but only on the basis that nothing else fits.

I could only find the 1766 version of the coin on Numista so maybe Essor Prof is correct in saying that it's not listed yet.

Apologies for my photography skills. They are severely lacking.

The date is definitely 1772. Many thanks though.

'Bad'. Surely VF at a stretch:). Found it in a bargain bin. Paid 50c. It's after lasting 250 years so I decided that it deserves to survive a little while longer. My coin, although in bad shape, seems to fit this coin which is listed as Baden-Durlach 1/2 Kreuzer 1772 Karl Friedrich elsewhere. But, unlike you guys, I am very far from being an expert. Many thanks for your help.

I think your skill is sufficient maybe put your camera on something to stabilize the picture but with 90% background you have to open the picture in another tap to even see details and cropping is very easy you can even do i on your phone (at least to a square).

There are definitely major differences in the dies but I would put them all under KM#124.

Lol. My phone is nearly as old as this coin. My wife is forever getting on to me to change it. If I used it to photograph coins I'd be kicked off this site. You are right of course I will have to make an effort to improve the photos.

I agree with KM#124. Many thanks.
