Hello one and all. I’m looking for a valuation on this group of tokens/coins. They’ve all been recently exhumed from the UK. Unfortunately I don’t have much information on them but can see some of the tokens related to British companies including Cussons and Bovril. There’s a sixpence in there too and what I’m told is a Roman coin. I’m a complete novice when it comes to this area. I’ve attached some photos which hopefully help! Would also be interested if there’s anything in there which stands out as interesting in any way or more valuable than the others. All help greatly appreciated!
In order to evaluate coins and tokens, we need pictures of both sides. Perhaps a good idea would be to arrange them into groups of 9 or 12 and take pictures of both sides in the same disposition (so that we're sure which two sides go together).
Yet, I can say right now that there is probably no formal price lists for most of those tokens. To have a sense of the value, it is best to search for them in Google ─I personally use Google Images for quick identification─ and look at the range of prices, taking into account that the better the condition, the higher the value will be. Note, however, that many people have totally unrealistic expectations about the value of their coins.
The more corroded tokens are likely to be of low value.
Many of the tokens are likely to be "mavericks". This is a term meaning that the token was issued by an unidentified business, which considerably lowers the value.
The coin that is probably Roman is in very poor condition and probably not worth anything. A good idea is to give it to a teenager who has an interest in history.
