Bought this banknote yesterday along with a Military Payment Certificate with a face value of 5 Cents. I have sorted the Military issue with a catalogue number of M8, but the Alabama banknote has not been easy to sort out any information on it, again, such as a catalogue number or website
Information I know, which can be read on the banknote itself, but adding it to avoid any confusion.
State of Alabama
The City of Selma
25 Cents

I know very little about US currency & even less about their colonial notes.
You might want to try CCF US Currency, US & World Currency forum (PCGS) or Paper Money Forum (should you get no replies here). I'm sure someone over there could shed some light or point you to a helpful reference/further sources of info.
Serial_Number_8.
Thank you for your reply. I will contact them sometime today. If I get a reply, I will add it to this forum.
Been looking hard over the weekend, but found nothing.

After registering with one of the links, I received a link from a guy in Tampa. It was Heritage Auctions, which had an auction for three banknotes of this type with three different face values, so at least I know it did exist.
Still no idea of a catalogue number.
There is a nice reference by Don Kelly called OBSOLETE PAPER MONEY: A GUIDE WITH PRICES, published by The Paper Money Institute, ISBN 978-1-7320338-0-1 that has many examples of the more common obsolete banknotes of the U.S., also called "broken banknotes". Page 17 of this book shows examples of 5 cents, 10 cents, and 50 cents issued by the City of Selma. No 25 cent note is listed, if it is authentic, perhaps it is a rarer variety?
I have done a search by Author, IBSN number and book title, and so far, no results have been forthcoming.
I think it will be impossible to get this book.
As I only have this one banknote, I am not sure it's worth all of this effort, but I think I will continue looking, just in case.
