The new 50 Pound banknote features Alan Turing a genius mathematician & computer pioneer who broke the Enigma code & has been credited with helping change the course of (& help shorten) WW2.
I would try to get hold of one of the last paper and the first new polymer note (quite expensive) because I did that when the 20 pound first came out last year however the £50 note is rarely seen in circulation and I’ve seen them on 4 occasions between the early 2010s and 2018 and haven’t seen one since then.
Also the Bank of England announced the date where the old paper £20 and £50 will be withdrawn from circulation (last day of September 2022).
Finally a bit off topic in summer 2019 I went to the computer museum in Bletchley park Milton Keynes and they had the computers from WWII that were developed by Alan Turing that decoded Enigma messages about secret operation that the Germans did during the war.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
