Presidential Dollars

I am new and I have many US Presidential Dollars which I can exchange.

My problem is the following: how can I recognize if my coin is D or P.

I think you mean the mintmark.
It's "D" for Denver and "P" for Philadelphia. Newer coins have "S" for San Francisco. those are usually rare since they're Proof coins.
You can see this mark next to the date on the obverse of US coins. Like tiekhere told
