Dear fellow Numista colleagues!
The long wait is finally over with the new year comming ever so closer we are finally going to see MPCC coming back after a year without.
Another edition of Most Popular Coin Contest is about to begin soon.
I had requested a volunteer to partake in running and translating the competition on the french forum but up to now there were no found volunteer.
You can submit your coins from now on by sending me your pictures by Private Message
Deadline for submission will be the until the 23rd of January 2022 23:59 CET, to me via PM only.
Start of the Competition is now scheduled for the 30th January 2022
Here are some basic guidelines for this year's competition:
First of all the categories
Categories:
A - Australia and Oceania + Antartic territories
B - Asia
C - North America
D - South America
E - Africa
F - Europe
G - Ancients
H - Medieval
I - Exonumia/Tokens/Primitive currency and Fantasy coinage
J - Non-circulating Commemorative coins
K - Coin Sets
L - Banknotes
If you are unsure as to which continent your coin belongs to, you can use the following list.
https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_continents
Category G will include all coins minted before rougly the year 600 AD and Medieval category H roughly all coins minted between 600 AD and 1450 AD
- The winners of the sections A to J will later battle in a combined final round for the most popular coin!
- In each round there will be only two coins battling against each other. If before the start of a new round there is an uneven number to battle with eachother, one will be drawn with a random generator as a lucky winner going through to the next round.
- Each Numista user can enter with 1 entry in each of the categories so a maximum of 12 in total.
- The duration of one round is 4 days (In cases where this will not be possible for me due to unforseen events I will try to inform on the forum beforehand).
- All categories will start simultaneously with the first competing entries on January 30th 2022
- Please leave your vote with option 1 for the upper entry or option 2 for the below entry, simply voting on which you personally find more appealing. Only one vote is allowed so please do not vote on the french and english forum side, people who will vote double will have their vote not count and receive a written warning. A repetition of double voting will result in banishment of possibility to enter votes in the MPCC.
Winning coins in the category finals will be asked to share a picture with their username and the date next to the winning entry.
Please submit as good as possible quality pictures of your entries, only submit pictures of your own items. Only jpg and cropped pictures are allowed. Other entries which do not follow this, the user will be informed that the entries will not be valid if not changed.
Information on How to Crop your pictures can be found for example here https://en.numista.com/numisdoc/pictures-and-images-on-numista-141.html
If you have submitted an entry but want to change it before the start of the competition, you can contact me via PM and we can see to organize such a change.
Good luck and let the best coin wins!
Sincerely yours,
Paul
