Austrian Burg Hasegg Token

3 berichten • 121 keer bekeken
Hi everyone

I found this coin/token in my late cousins estate and would like some information please.

The token has Burg Hasegg Münzerturm with a picture of a castle on the front and Hall in Tirol with a Herald on the back. Smooth rim

It is bright gold in colour. The same colour as a brand new $2 Australian coin and the same size.

It is in a blue leather look case. I found a few other online but they are copper in colour and had no case.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Karen

Hi KAZ1 and welcome to the forum!
Have a look here for some more information https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia245854.html
We have seen many coins and tokens shown on this forum, which have been gold or silver electro-plated.
Who can say why someone would do it? Students shop class practice? anyones guess.
In this case it is a tourist souvenir, perhaps you could buy in the gift shop, gold colored as well as copper ones...
