Mameita Gin: Real? Fake? Reference?

7 berichten • 203 keer bekeken
Hey everyone,
I have here two Mameita Gin (one from the Genbun era, another from Tempo) and was wondering if they were real. Neither seem magnetic but I’m not sure about the stamps they have on them. The Tempo one came with a case containing reference CR #8A.

If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Harrison

CR or only C could be for William D Craig "Coins of the World 1750/1850" but I don't have it
fascinating.
what do you suppose is the alloy of these? 26% silver, 44% silver and ???

I have this link with the alloys and stamps. I just don’t know if my mameita gin fit the charts at all (especially the tempo, looking at the reverse).

I have. Here's a scan of that particular coin but I doubt if it's helpful:

That’s super helpful! I can now read the case the tempo one came in a bit better.

Thanks!
