Hi all,

It´s possible to identify this Coins?
Every time the rain starts, I give a go in identifying a couple of my unidentified pieces and I sure can´t manage to find this one...

this to me looks a bit more spanish but however im no expert
The reverse design has a Portuguese inspiration -- you can see very similar crosses in Portuguese and Brazilian early gold coins.

But, on the obverse, we can see the coat of arms of the Spain (1580-1668) (with Portuguese shield over Spanish shield). From 1580 to 1640, Spain was dynastically united with Portugal.

The "II" inscription in the obverse makes me believe it's a 2 escudos coin.

I hope it helps you to narrow down your searches.

Thank you very much! It sure does!

I´ve thought of a Portuguese Coin because it was an heritage from my stepfather, mainly a (very good) Portuguese Coin collector.
Other coins, as some french ones, i´ve discovered that they were, sometime in the past, used in Portuguese currency.

This one, since we (Portugal), from 1580 to 1640, had the Spanish king ruling over us, will surely fall in that category:
Filipe I of Portugal and II of Spain r. 1580-1598;
Philip II of Portugal and III of Spain r. 1598-1621;
Filipe III of Portugal and IV of Spain r. 1621-1640.
