Medieval Kashmir - stater of King Kalasa (1054-1061)? [opgelost]

Hello all,

I have this coin:

and would like to make sure it is a stater of King Kalasa (1054-1061), even though it was described as a stater of Queen Didda Rani. The writing on the obverse fits the Kalasa issue and not the Didda issue.

For your reference here are the other post-Hunnic Kashmir issues in the Numista catalogue.

Indeed the writing on your coin does match Kalasa. Here's a good thread on coins of various Hindu rulers of Kashmir.

https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=266233&whichpage=2

About halfway down the page there's a coin of Kalasa with an overlay of the writing, which also appears on your coin.

Coins of Hindu rulers of Kashmir are similar in general appearance and are often by default assigned to Didda Rani, the same way Chola coins are often by default assigned to Rajaraja Chola, though there are several rulers with similar coins.
Thanks much!

Yes, it's a good thread and I found "Kalasa" transcribed on the fourth page.
