Hi all,

I got these two ancient coins. I assume they are from China - but I am really not sure and I am not successful by trying to identfy them with the help of a catalogue.
Coin 1

Diameter: 22mm
Weight:1.8g

Coin 2

Diameter: 22.3 mm
Weight: 2.9 g

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Hello!

For the first coin, I'm fairly sure you have a Japanese 1 Mon coin. Due to the condition of the coin, I don't know exactly which variety you have. However, I can tell that your coin is likely the "new type" from after 1668. Here is the page for the coin:

Hope this helps!

Hi DoubleEggbert56,

absolutely right - thanks a lot for your help. And right - unfortunately the condition of this coin is not good enough for breaking down to variant level.

Best regards!
