Hi,
Can anyone shed any light on the coin I have been given please. It is from a house clearance and I know no more of it's origin. I have searched on Google to no avail. Any help would be greatly recieved.
Thanks.

I guess it was made and distributed by https://www.windsormint.co.uk/

Thank you for the reply. It definitely looks like something they would do having looked. Still cant find one similar though. We will keep looking. Thanks.

your commercial item has a mintmark. it is similar to the mintmark used in germany by "Bayerisches Münzkontor". They are owned by the same company than windsormint (Göde).

It seems to be a commemoration of the half penny, as minatures of the reverse and obverse are on the obverse of the coin and it says "HALF PENNY" at the bottom. It doesn't match anything that seems to have been issued by Windsor Mint, Westminster Mint or Franklin Mint.
Thanks also for the reply. I just can't find a similar one anywhere. Even did the Google camera thing and nothing came up. It does indeed say Halfpenny - but why it is the shape of a 50 pence is unusual to me. I'm hoping someone may just say they have one or have seen one somewhere..... thanks again.

simple way to find out more is to take a picture and sen dthis to several companies, together with compliments about the nice item and the question about avaibility, series size, prices etc.
If you ask the right company they will send you advertising :)

Your second picture, of a helmeted Britannia facing left, is also on this 2014 'coin' ...

with two other images, including a blue logo ...

So yes, it is a different coin, but the portrait is the same, and hopefully the logo is identifiable. :)

This is an unrelated link for 'coins' from Windsor Mint ...

and one of the pictures is a Certificate of Authenticity; it has the same blue logo.

Another picture, again a different 'coin', with name and logo together ...

So not sure what the Mint Mark on the 50 Pence shape coin is -
but looks like Windsor Mint made it - like a member already mentioned.

Edit - that picture above is part of a series for that item,
and the last picture for it has this ...

which has the same Mint Mark on it. So it differs from their logo -
but both are the same manufacturer. :wiz:

the blue logo is the logo of "Göde" germany.
In germany they produce and sell under "Bayerisches Münzkontor" and uses a crowned G as mintmark.
In UK they produce and sell under Windsor Mint.

Thanks so much to everyone for all of the effort and help! I appreciate the knowledge and expertise - it is helping me as I am a young collector who loves all things coins. Thanks 👍
