Fake? Found a 10 Mark, 1911 J 'Gold' coin. [opgelost]

What do you all think? Is this fake?

Weight: 4.02 grams
Diameter: 19.45 mm
Thickness: 1.82 mm

I have lived in this house for 7 years, and this morning I was re-arranging some dishes in my kitchen cupboard. This coin was sitting in the back corner of the middle shelf! I was happy to see that it is supposed to be a gold coin, but it does not feel right to me.

Can anyone tell me where this came from, more than 7 years ago, and what should I do with it?

I refuse to pass fakes forward on eBay...even if I tell them it is a fake. So, should I keep the fake for my fake-sample collection, or smash it with a hammer? Or, both?

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces21452.html this would be it but if the weight diamiter and thickness is off you might be right in it being fake however to me it just looks like the difference of one scale to another because it is roughly the same if your still worried about it being fake take it to a local coin shop, pawn shop, or anyplace that will have a way to test metal purity without damaging the coin.

Perhaps, but what is to stop people from selling them on eBay? Personally, I do not condone the manufacture of fakes for any reason.

Interesting find, tho. I wonder why it was in the kitchen cabinet...?
