This entry for Ireland, £50 Bank of Ireland 1910-1917 should be modified to include 1908 and to omit years of issue, except for 1908.

One example of a Bank of Ireland £50 note of this era is recorded, dated 10 May 1908, part of the Bank of Ireland Series E General Issue 1864-1918. This is one of the rarest of Irish notes. Some denominations of Bank of Ireland notes in the 1900-1920 period are known to have not been printed in every year - £3 and £20 are verified as such from observed notes.

The corresponding £20 note, dated 15 Nov 1915, was replaced by a note dated 10 April 1919.
The 1908 date £50 could have lasted 5 or more years before needing replacement.

Using the £20 note as a control reference, it can be inferred that there would certainly not have been £50 notes issued for all of the years currently listed in this Numista entry, and possibly not for any of these years.

Given that only one example of a £50 note of this Type has been seen, dated in 1908, the Numista listing for this banknote Type should be altered to reflect this.
The reason these year lines were put in is because of the following text from irishpapermoney.com.

Type D. 1907 5 Lines of branches in sans-serif script increasing from 64 to 66
Signature Baskin.
a.1910 65. Branches including Dunmanway.
b.1911-1913. 64 Branches. Dunmanway removed.
c.1914. 65 Branches. Trim added.
d.1917. 66 branches.
Denominations recorded: £1, £3, £5, £10, £20, £50.

I'm happy to change the listing as you request but you might want to look at this description on your own website as I've clearly misunderstood it.

That's done but for some reason the date range is now showing 1908-1917, even though the only year line is 1908.

You are quite right, the page on my website is ambiguous, and the Type D listing doesn’t state clearly what it is trying to say. As it is, it assumes a prior knowledge of the series - a legacy of it’s origins as a book from 20 years ago.

Good feedback - thanks. I have adjusted the page, and updated it to include the latest observations of notes.
