Whenever I edit a post that contains an emoji it will be replaced by an @.

Not very important but also some emojis are outside the selection box … don't know if that is some issue imported from the mobile nature of these emojis like the stacked ones with all these unnecessary skin colors.

Still happening, still a tat annoying. 🥲

Which OS, browser and browser version are you using?

Sorry, I forgot to add that.

Windows 10 | 21H2 | 19044.2251

Firefox 108.0b9 (64-Bit) - You see the original emoji for 100ms then it gets replaced by an @

Firefox 108 (64-Bit) - updated but still the same

Microsoft Edge 108.0.1462.42 (64-Bit) - everything is fine

Google Chrome 108.0.5359.95 (64-Bit) - everything is fine

But for this particular thread I get the empty symbol icon on the last two

Android 6.0/ 13

Opera Mobile 72.3.3767.68685 - everything is fine

Hello,

I fixed the issue of emojis being replaced by @.

To give the full context: Emojis are not supported on older OS/browser versions. Numista verifies that your browser can display at least emojis of Unicode 11.0 (introduced in 2018): if your browser can't, it will replace the emojis by images so that you can still see the emojis. This replacement caused the issue you see when editing the message.

Based on what you shared, it seems that your computer is able to display emojis with Edge and Chrome but not Firefox. That's why you had the issue only on Firefox. However, your Edge and Chrome are able to display emojis of Unicode 11 (so no replacement by regular images is done) but not Unicode 13, which introduced the emoji 🥲, so you can't see it on Edge and Chrome.
