¼ Sovereign - Elizabeth II Sapphire Jubilee 2018

6 berichten • 115 keer bekeken

New to coins, I've always wanted a sovereign and saw this at £110 + 2.99 P&P.  Naively bought it based on a dodgy photo.  I'm interested in your opinion on the price I paid.

Thanks

The gold value in the coin fluctuates, but is worth a little under £90, so about a 25% premium.

For a small proof coin, that's not too bad - and I like the design.

But you could get a ¼ sovereign cheaper, London Mint Office will sell you a 2022 Gibraltar BU for £99 inc p&p.

Have fun, and happy collecting.

Awesome, thank you.  A great tip.

You're welcome, the LMO ¼ Sov is worth buying, one of the better valve coins they have…

..but I should also say that most coins from LMO should be avoided, they sell a lot of over-priced junk.

but, if you wanted a PF 2018, you would have to look for it. I find them for sale for GBP 140. so 110 looks like a good deal. 👍

Very nice!

This Alderney ¼ Sovereign was struck in Bristol at The Commonwealth Mint.
