Small Sword Society? Unknown Tai Ping Tong Bao

~24.5mm diameter, Weighs 2.91g

Hello everyone! I've attached pictures of a coin I bought recently and need some help on. It's a Tai Ping Tong Bao coin that obviously wasn't cast during the Song dynasty, judging from the calligraphy and color. That said, I'm not exactly sure who issued this coin, although I believe it was the Small Sword Society (Coin was sold as a Taiping Rebels coin, very vague). If anyone can validate my hypothesis or identify the issuer, I'd be grateful.

Hello

From Hartill cast chinese coins

The h#23.30 from the Shanghai small sword society can be distinghuished from Song dynasty coins from the calligraphy by the metal wich is brass not bronze

N#271975

I think the information from the Numista page comes from the Hartill

So I think your right in your identification

Small Sword Society have star and moon on reverse, 22-23mm

you have this N#135231

Hello jane6301

The first coin  in your link according to hartill have a blank reverse

Do you not agree with this ?

small sword society accord to what i read never made with blank back, only star and moon. font and size is similar to N#47305  Photo from Numista is actually an Northern Sung cash.  During 1600's Annam also made Tai Ping Tong Bao usually found with star on reverse.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/353711850126  font is also different.

I have some pieces of Tai Ping tong bao Hartill 16.16-16.17 coins and I think the coin in not none of those, I mean not Hartill 16.16-16.17  nor The Shanghai Small Sword Society coin. The Northern Song coin should have more like squarish head tong and also different bao legs. The characters just doesn't fit to Hartill 16.16-16.17. The photo in question has too wide rims, closed head tong, wrong kind of bao feet to be either Northern Song or The Shanghai Small Sword Society coin, which is actually very rare with plain reverse.
