The imagery of a saint (or other nimbate figure) holding a cross and bible is similar to representations on Byzantine coins (and their imitators like Venice, Sicily and Balkans), but this would be a rather thick silver item for its time at only 15 mm but 2.37 g.. IHS (letters in Jesus' name) also appears at the beginning of inscriptions on Byzantine copper coins.
