Hello experts!

Any clue?

Thank you for any comment!

Hi! Yes,for sure this is arabic script. But… I conceed, the cross is very strange! Maybe some unknown(for me!) coin of the crusades,I think… Kingdom of Jerusalem(or else in that region)…

Andi👋

That is a really interesting coin. Some crusader principalities (Kingdom of Jerusalem, Antioch, Accre, Tripoli) in the Levant issued some coins in arabic, while some early islamic rulers issued coins with crosses or byzantine motifs, especially in the Anatolia region. So I would start looking around there.

I had not seen this coin type before though.

Medieval Sicily is another place where Christian and Arabic devices appeared together on coins.

Just to inform for future researches, I found this coin (or something very simmilar) under the Salduq Dinasty

Wow, nice find!

From the comments at this related coin page at Zeno (https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=172419):

"SALDUQIDS: 'Izz al-Din Salduq, 1129-1168, AE fals (4.17g), NM, ND, A-1890A, 'izz al-din in central circle // cross pattée, 3 pellets at end of each point, narrow flan, R. A.V. Akopyan has suggested that this type was minted at Dvin in Armenia, which was under Salduqid control circa 1153-1160."

Written by Quant-Geek by the way (hope he's doing well).

It will have to be added to our catalog, and the section where it belongs is very empty: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/saltukid_dynasty-1.html

This numismatic world is so small,  the only one Salduq coin on the catalog is mine 😃
