Hi,

Who ever had to look for a specific mint or a specific catalog know the pain it is to do so …

Currently, it looks like an interminable list of things …

1 - So can we first put a count beside the names:

and

2 - The map for mint doesn't work well if you turn around the globe …

3.1 - I have the ISBN of a book (5935172615) how can I find it in our reference book catalog just by example for a Russian book as I don't have a clue of Russian alphabet …

So can you put on top of Mint and Reference catalog, a quick search for the main features?

3.2 - It's the same for the mints, I had the official name of a mint, I type it in CTRL+F, and it doesn't show up because we used a different name as the official one... So how can I find a mint based on its real name?

Other example I know the BAVARIAN STATE MINT so I look for it in our mint list and it doesn't show up looking at it official name …

3.3 - I have mint letters, example HM, how can I find the potential mint?

4.1 - The current display for reference book look nice at the beginning, but it's not easy when you are lost in the middle of the page to know wich reference belong to what … Should I look up or down…

4.2 - I don't know if it's just me, but I feel strange that we start by the author then the date then the book title, would it not be clearer in a tab with column name?

5 - Can we edit directly from the page as we would do for a coin? Maybe with a new referee for Catalogues and Mint, it feels so different to go by the Forum to do what we will do directly with a CR for a coin.

So in short, my idea is to bring a bit more of life in those 2 marvelous sections :-)

Always look on the bright side of life!

Hello,

I started with some of the easy changes:

1. I added the counts in the introduction texts.

2. I made a change to prevent moving to parallel worlds.

3. Indeed search could be improved for these 3 use cases.

4.1. Some formatting was lost during the move out from Numisdoc. It's fixed.

4.2. A table would be an issue. We would need about 10 columns, so it would barely fit on the screen and it would take a lot of space (titles continuing over multiple lines).

5. Indeed that would be great.

That already good improvements!

For point 1, in Reference Catalogue here a proposal of change:

Numista catalogue has cross-references with 2112 (number in bold) reference coin, banknote and Exonumia catalogues, denoted by a code in the Numista catalogue. If a major reference catalogue is missing, please open a ticket.

For point 4.3, I doubt a tab would be the best option, but maybe something like:

With a very small picture it will feel a bit more colorfull.

Always look on the bright side of life!
