Hi,

Do you have any idea of what is this?

Hello 🤖

Without pictures, it will be very difficult for anyone to help you. Could you please post clear pictures of each side of your item?

My god, Frenchlover is a psychic and a magician! How did you do that with no photos, etc, etc, etc?

Ok, but is it a coin?

Jeton = Exonumia=Tokens= Coin like. Not a coin.

But is it a token or a replica ? The current info on the page seems to me very light to approve the page, so it may have been approved in Exonumia by error that’s why I ask.

Where is there any indication or suggestion that it is a replica of anything? Why now do you change the question and make that unsubstantiated assertation of a possible replica ? You asked a question, it was answered.  It is not a coin, It is classified as a Jeton. A trade token until you can prove otherwise. You are free to do your own research, make your arguments, and correct the page if it is in fact misclassified.

Well, FrenchLover highlight the French description:

Fals - Yūsuf ibn Tāshfīn - 1061-1106 AD Morabit.

As I have no knowledge about Fals and the page is very limited in info I ask for more because it seems it’s obvious for you and Frenchlover but not for me.

So the question are:

what country should we link it to?

what is the script? And do we know the translatio?

what kind of token it is?

There are page after page of limited information, unclassified, miscellaneous, and "other" tokens. Issuer unknown, attributable to no known ruling authority, page added by unknown, approved by unknown. etc. etc. yet they are in the exonumia catalog. Please show us what it is if you disagree. Substantiated corrections are certainly welcome and you can make your case to the respective referee.  This is the best information other folks who actually spent some time on the subject came up with. Don't shoot the messengers.

Hi,

Just to add more mystery to this matter, there are no registered copper fals under any Murabitun/Almoravid ruler.

Checked that on Zeno and later on Stephen's Album:

(https://www.stevealbum.com/pdfs/ChecklistOfIslamicCoins3rdEdition2011Free.pdf), pages 83-84

And I'm not sure if that's a real arabic inscription on the coin/token/whatever.

So, what that thing really is?

We can note that Stephen is reporting (page 84) 1/16 qirat = Habba (AR/AE ?) but only since AH500 :

From ‘Ali b. Yusuf onwards, there are a few additional silver fractions of the qirat, including some alleged 1/16 qirat, all extremely rare.

mystery, mystery …
