Hi all!!! I own a 1/12 Anna KM#509 coin dated 1923 and it has no dot just below the date - the photo representing this coin type is also dated 1923 and has a dot under the date - so there are two varieties of this date - with and without a dot, is it possible to add it to the catalog? Many thanks!!!
By the way, the same also regards 1 pice, KM# 533 from British India. On the photo there is a dot below the date 1944, my 1945 coin is missing any mintmark under the date - that means it was struck by Calcutta Mint.
Calcutta Mint issues have no mint mark. The issues from the
other mints have the mint mark below the date as following:
Lahore, raised “L”; Pretoria, small round dot; Mumbai (Bombay),
diamond dot or “large” round dot. On the Mumbai (Bombay)
issues dated 1944 the mint mark appears to be a large dot over
a diamond.
