Category: Australia and Pacific Islands

Netherlands East Indies- 1 Cent- Wilhelmina

VS
Australia- 1 Florin- George V (Parliament)
Really tough, but 2. Monarch and design.
1, looks interesting
#1 looks quite unusual
This is a tough one, Dan!

Number 2. I like the Art Deco style in the NEI coins and stamps but Kruger Gray's design beats any Oceanic coins.

By the way NEI is in Asia, but it's just at the border of being Oceania.

Yes, but the category is not Oceania, NEI is a "Pacific Island". I put Japan in this category: Japan is a "Pacific Island", or more accurately, "Pacific Islands"!
#2, because I want one.
#2 I really like the design of that coin

WHAT! not fair at all! that one is mine and I paid $30 for it! (I was desperate, and got some throw-ins but still...

Number 2 is my vote of course, silver, love the obverse and really cool design. It also is a commemorative of something.
Numista referee for Canada and Estonia.
1.

These are getting harder. I've changed my mind twice already but finally opted for #1 because of the original surfaces and presumably lower mintage.

Plus the Dutch don't cheat at Cricket.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Aha technically it is! And so is Taiwan and the Philippines if you wanted to count them. Cartographically speaking, Japan isn't part of the Pacific Islands group but I guess I am very well Pacific Islander.

Any voting that has a Japanese coin as a choice is an automatic win for me, unless it's one of those WWII Zinc coins that both me and "zincophobic" Phil don't like.

I'm still going with #2 for George although that is a very convincing argument.
2, better design
I have got to go with 1 this time. pulls hair out, voting is so hard!
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
1 for unusual appearance (by the way, I have both in my collection)  ;)
No. 1, because it is "other style" (british kings are very common within this contest...).
