So your bank will accept customer rolled coins and given them back out without examination?

It's been over a decade since I was a bank teller but anytime anyone brought in coins we were required to run them through the counting machine. If the customer wrapped them in rolls, we had to open them up and put them in the machine. Even if someone was returning bank rolled coin that we gave them, we'd have to open them up.

If varies by bank and branch. Like, at Wells Fargo, they never check. At Huntington, some branches will open up all the rolls and count them up. Others, only compare roll height against a full roll. Though, I don't know anyone who'd put them into a coin-counting machine. Most of them don't even have those machines anymore and don't accept lose change.

  • Halves (black bank rolls)

There were several short rolls – pretty bad job by the coin rolling company. Tons of newer years (2023-2025), no silver, not even any NIFCs. Not a good box at all. Really makes it seem like hunting halves is now a waste of time. Nickels, on the other hand, never disappoint.

What is inside the bankroll with the swiss coin?
also the penny was most likely left in the sun and the zinc warped it. I find them on roofs like this all the time.

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

It was a nickel roll, so just nickels. 😄

The penny isn't warped, just worn. It's a little thicker on one side than on the other. It seems to be slightly elongated, but the image isn't distorted on either side, so I don't think it was pressed after being struck at the mint.

Wow, first time I read this I thought you found 36 buffalo nickels 😂

Now, that would be something 😄

I think the most I've found in a single box was 3.
