Hello,

i need help identifying another roman coin. I find this coin extremely difficult to classify even approximately. I apologise for the poor condition of the coin, but perhaps someone will be able to identify it. :)

Thanks

Maybe augustus?

Looks like Augustus

As others have said most likely Augustus. Maybe Augustus and Caesar? Something like N#66647 but the weight and diameter are off. I tried searching for this type, unfortunately they're all much larger and heavier than yours so it's not this exact coin. Perhaps a provincial issue? Maybe this guides you in the right direction.

Thank you for your help, it really looks like Augustus in the second picture. However, I still can't quite identify the coin - even after 2 hours of looking. Maybe someone else has a bright idea, too.

The nearest i came to a solution was this coin: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/C_R-6035

But i don´t think that my coin is silver.

At diameter: 18mm  Weight: 4,7g it cannot be a sestertius, an as at best. I think it's some kind of provincial issue.

Hi, I have found another coin which looks even more similar to mine. However, this is also a sestertius, which is 30mm in diameter and weighs about 20g. Somehow I can hardly make any progress. Could my coin even be a fake of a sestertius?

Edit: To address the comment above: By now I think I have looked through every province again with all coins that are between 17-19mm and weigh +- 1g to 4.7g. But I have remained unsuccessful :(.
