Digged it from a ground. Very damaged. Does anyone can suggest by what left of the print where should I start? Looks like on one sode there is a man looking left and some words around coins.  Something like “real raldino avgastus” I can’t quite make it. Anyone have any idea at least which country it may belong?

For sure roman but dont know the emperor

Weight and diameter please. The emperor is Trajan

I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

So the Romans went to Canada before the Vikings and Columbus?

It’s 23mm in deameter and wait is 8.37g, although it is corroded heavily so when it was nee I would say it was slightly heavier. Thank your for you answer Sir.

No, no colleague. He might be right. Although I leave in Canada, we found it during my vacation in Moldova. And this country if I remember correctly was reside if not within Roman Empire borders then at very least very near it. I should have mentioned it I guess, I just though it was not important enough. I was thinking actually that it could be roman as well. But the thing what bothered me is quite small letters around a coin which feels unusual for the quality or regular roman coins. Felt more like 1500-1800 quality. And the other thing coins feels like more brass then copper. And I can’t recall any brass Roman coins. That why I was more inclined towards something else. Although am an amateur for sure.

Cheers.

That changes the game completely, normally one expects Canadians to dig in their own soil ;-)

Fair enough:) But I wouldn’t know neither where or how to do it myself or where even get permissions from at that matter:). So I went to see my friend who are big into digging to go on a field trip with him. Thats basically why.

Have fun the Moldovan fields.

Weight and diameter are that of an as. The obverse legend is most likely IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG with the bold part still being readable. Unfortunately not much of the reverse is left. In hand you might be able to work out some of the reverse details, try matching your coin to one of these: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=rome_section&r=&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=traiano+avg&b=&d=&ie=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=8-10&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=

Especially take a look at the Victory series, I have a hunch it could be one of these: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=rome_section&r=victory&ct=coin&im1=&im2=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&cat=y&ru=&ca=3&no=&v=&i=traiano+avg&b=&d=&ie=&u=&a=&dg=&m=&f=&t=&w=8-10&mt=&g=&se=&c=&wi=&sw=

I think you absolutely correct Sir. Thank you very much for your assistance and knoledge. And although I can’t be sure which one exactly it is my best bet that it is this one:

However it is 100%, 103-111 Roman coin. And that is good enough for me. I will mark this topic as resolved now. Appreciate your effort Sir.
