Hello,

I have inherited 100's of coins and cataloging them but i have come across a few like this and cant find information on them especially the over sided edge.

Its almost like its a mold for the coin as its imprinted back to front and the other side if each is blank.

If anyone could shed some light on this i would be very thankful!

This is the medal of the coronation of Napoleon I, though by the “mold” appearance of it it's most likely a die for the medal.

Full name: Visit of Pope Pius VII to Paris, Napoleon Bonaparte (Emperor Napoleon I), France, 1804
