Showing my 2.5 years old what happens when a train runs over a coin 😱

What we call now “elongated pennies” occured at the turn of the XIXth century, from a diameter of 30mm up to 35mm
I remember doing that as a boy. 😇
A safety note - do not stand close when the train arrives, sometimes the coin can be ejected like a bullet!

To avoid the coin flying like a bullet, I like to advice to hold it with a small plier, during the process.😜

I hope no kidz here will take this seriously!
We used to cover the coins with mud. Otherwise the coin would stick to the wheel and off it would go.
Helpful not, don't substitute the mud with rocks. 😲

Well, it was a hot and sunny day and there was no mud nearby, only rock-solid dirt that we couldn't dig up and put on the tracks. But plenty of rocks.
