This is related in part with https://en.numista.com/forum/topic128212.html.
English-speaking (and Spanish-speaking 🙁) members now see the item modification page with English legends and values. They can select values in language-independent fields, and can fill with English texts the language-dependent fields.
And French-speaking members see this page with French legends and values. They can select values in language-independent fields, and can fill with French texts the language-dependent fields.
In the “Documentation center”, members with permission to edit help articles can edit all three versions of each article (English, French and Spanish) at the same time, on the same page.
Why not do the same on item modification page?
- display the interface in the member language interface (labels, menu, language-independent values),
- display the language-dependent fields for three languages (or two, if the Spanish can not be added now).
For example, with English interface the page will be similar to:

The user will be able to fill in the fields in the languages they know.
This solve these topics:
If this can be easily done, perhaps the Spanish support would be more easy to add, later.
Before do this, may be must convert some language-dependent fields to language-independent fields:
- the series https://en.numista.com/forum/topic122633.html (Done),
- the edge https://en.numista.com/forum/topic73033.html.
Edit: I modify the subject text.
