Bank of England 1935 White Bank notes

I found 4 bank note in my late father stuff.  I have a 20 pound, 2 ten pound and one 5 pound.  Are these worth anything?

If they are originals, rather than reproductions, then yes they'll certainly have a value. I'm not expert enough on such early notes to be able to say whether or not they're originals, I'd have to defer to another member.

They are typically referred to as the “White Fiver/Tenner” or “White Five/Ten/Twenty Pound Note” for people online. The 5s aren't particularly rare. Reasonable quality ones from the 1930s seem to go for anything from £50-£90 a piece fairly easily on eBay.

A quick glance on the London Coins auctioneer's website states that a 1935 £10 sold for £650 last month, and other early ones seem to be worth a similar amount. The twenty seems to be even rarer. Some comparable dates (1933/37) went for around £1,000 a piece back in 2020.

Obviously, condition is everything and the ones mentioned above were particularly good. Given the rather strong folds & rough edges on the pictured 10, I would expect you would get somewhat less than the above figures.

However, they are certainly still worth a nice little chunk - assuming they are genuine of course!

Thank you so much for your reply.

Have a look at my reply on your other thread on how to identify the WW2 forgeries.

The prefix on the note pictured suggests that it is a genuine example.
