British India 5 Rupee, King George VI, C. D. Deshmukh

Hi all,

Just bought this note, and was trying to get information on its dimensions, as the website from which I bought it, did not have that particular information. I am not able to find this note in Numista. I then used Google lens to search for images of this note and the notes I checked thus far (about 12 of them) had one of the two following characteristics:

(1) They had the C.D. Deshmukh signature (my note does too), but were only for issue in Burma OR

(2) They  had the J B Taylor signature without any Burma related words.

Here is a photo of my note:

Is anyone able to positively identify this note and provide any information they can about it? Thanks.

If I keep quiet & walk away, it simply means..your stupidity isn't worth any more of my time.

Hello 🤖

Without pictures, it will be very difficult for anyone to help you. Could you please post clear pictures of each side of your item?

Please note that this is an automatic message. Feel free to ignore if it is not relevant.

Definitely a British Indian 5 Rupees.

Sir C.D. Deshmukh was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1943 to 1949, when Sir Benegal Rama Rau succeeded him.

Aidan.

This could be your note.
