But the business is different, it says J.J. Mcalester Dealer in general merchandise.

This information comes from the following reference.

This item is the 5 Cents token 24.5 mm. scalloped with 8 notches. The 10 cents is also scalloped with 8 notches but 28.5 mm. Also in 25, 50 cents, 1, 2 and 5 Dollar denominations all are scalloped.  The book values the token at $5.00 and there is no copyright date in the book but is believed to be 1978

Quote from the book.

A few years after the Civil War Col. James J. McAlester (then a clerk in a store at Stonewall I. T.) learned of the plans for building the first railroad through I. T. (Indian Territory) He also knew of the coal deposits around the Cross Roads area where the railroad was to pass. McAlester & a merchant from Ft. Smith established a store at the “Cross Roads”, later named “McAlester”, which immediately became a thriving success. McAlester became a Choctaw Nation Citizen by marrying a Choctaw girl, then interested other citizens of the Choctaw & Chickasaw nations in developing coal mines.
