Bonjour

Merci

Up

N 'importe quoi😡

This is an utterly ridiculous change. These coins and notes had nothing what so ever to do with the USA. If you must group them under the USA, at least preserve the real name of the issuer, “Danish West Indies”, and not what the islands are called today.

It is precisely what was done :-)

Who decided to do that?

Why not just stick with the continents, they at least don't change……

How have you preserved the real name? Nowhere does it say "Danish West Indies".

Here

That's not visible until you are viewing an individual coin. The whole section needs to be called by its real name. That's how catalogues work.

It is perfectly seeable from the search engine

That's not the same as including it in the visible list. Not everyone will go to the search engine after seeing that a country is missing. They'll simply assume we haven't included it and write us off as non-comprehensive. We have to make this catalogue accessible, not just “tidy”.

No country is missing. We do not list as separate entries the territories which stayed the same but with just a name change.

If a country isn't listed, it's missing. Hiding countries away under modern names is not how a catalogue works. Just because you know where to look does not mean others will. A catalogue must be accessible to all.

I understand you continue to disagree, but we do not plan to change the system rationale which was existing even before I joined. We just cleaned recently the last items not following it, hence this same thread all over again.

Then these complaints (not just from me) are going to continue. If Xavier wants his catalogue to be a collaboration, he's going to have to start listening sooner or later.

Bonjour ,

Merci.

Yes, the disagreements are going to continue, and it doesn't matter when a member joined numista, he / she can still complain. And somebody will have to listen and react?

Ofc you can, who said the opposite?

Still, really sorry but having 2 or even 10 people complaining does not really prove Numista is “inaccurate”, “wrong” or whatever you'd describe it.

Admins take many decisions, based on their overall knowledge of needs in the entire catalogue, and hopefully receive way more good feedback about it than you seem to think, even if way less visible in the forum (let's admit some people here are quite consistent and loudy when it comes to criticize over and over the very same decisions, every single time it leads to the exact same type of action in the catalogue, as if it was the first time we discussed it; this constant echoing is not the most constructive approach, in my humble opinion).
