New to identifying, a little help? Chinese cash coin

3 berichten • 58 keer bekeken

I got this coin in a group of cash coins yesterday but I'm having problems identifying it. Looking over the catalogue it looks like its a coin from the Qing dynasty, emperor Kangxi. I believe the obverse says:

     康
寶 通
 熙

Kang Xi Tong Bao
Kangxi (Emperor) / Universal currency

I believe the reverse says:

ᠪᠣᠣ ᡶᡠ

Boo-fu

I'm new to coins, especially old coins, but it looks in too nice condition to be authentic? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Welcome aboard 😃

You're right, Kang Xi Boo Fu doesn't exist.

This wording is done on purpose in order not to fool collectors

Thank you for the welcome 😀

And thank you for the clarification, I thought it looked very different than the others I received.
