1492 1992 British Virgin Islands $100 .500 gold coin

Hello I’m trying to find some information on this coin that I have had. I have taken it to local dealers and no one can tell me anything more than it’s purity and the price for its gold weight.

NGC values it as worth its weight in gold only.

I would say only worth it as billion gold coin.  Maybe follow that ebay listing to see if it sells for anywhere near that price.

Found this one(N#33626 ), similar but smaller that sold on ebay for US $58 just slightly above melt value.

Actually, I am actively collecting all Franklin mint coins, and exonomia.

If I'm doing my arithmatic right, that is --- in gold.

edit wrong,  1/14 ounce, so US$145 in gold

Put it on ebay, start there, you should get bids well above that.  

I cant get any feel for condition in these pictures. 

Is the coin  factory sealed inside clear plastic film, glued in a sheet of card? 

or are we seeing the naked surfaces?

By the way any edge markings? have you weighed it?

No it’s not sealed. I actually found the coin in a table I bought. No edge marking except for the .500 pure gold and on top he queens lapel the init rfk I believe. There are some some surface scratches but no deep ones. 

too bad. it cant be compared to the slabbed one. 

melt value, still yeh, $145.
