1902 tausend kronen real or fake? [opgelost]

6 berichten • 276 keer bekeken

I recently got this tausend kronen bill from Austria-Hungary but I think it is fake. I saw in the catalog that one side should be in german and the other in hungarian but mine has german on both sides. Also the stamp should be horizontal, but maby the guy stamping got lazy. Does anyone know how I can tell if it is real or fake?

This is your very common note:

I think I missed that one, thank you!

I think that a contemporary fake of this note might be worth more than a real one.

But how could I see/test if such a note is real or fake?

Experience.

The quality of printing on an old fake will generally give it away. However, you may need access to genuine notes of the era for comparison, especially where the note is very old, or very rare.

In the case of very rare old notes, then contemporary fakes sometimes can have a significant collector value.
