Hey everyone,

Just a few days ago I was thinking about new ideas that would involve change on Numista, changes that members like you could participate in. So I had this idea:

On January 23rd, 2013, replace an ugly or small photo on Numista with your EF or UNC coin photos, using Photoscape to edit the photos.

I got the idea when seeing World Coin Gallery photos which, with all due respect, aren't very good quality. I also noticed how many pages did not have any photos at all.

This will be a fun and exciting event on Numista, and I can't wait to see the newly submitted photos on the 23rd. I would like to remind you, however, to not replace user photos that are good quality and especially have been cropped already.

I'll do 3 or more, but at least three. Great idea!
Thanks man.

Too bad this event is not as exciting as MPCC, or in the future, MPSC.

All except Numista images - right?
I'd say just photos that aren't good quality.

Good thinking !

I always add better pictures when I can. Saying that sometimes it's been known for me to add an awful coin like Essequebo and Demerary William IV guilder and the Bikanir 1/2 pice but it's better to have at least something rather than nowt !
good idea !!!  :8D

for this only use photoscape ? - have that not, use Gimp because... allright,
In two days, everyone try to replace a crummy photo on Numista!

My friends are good numismatic.  I like to make friends and share my hobby.

The only coins in my collection that previously had uncropped pictures. I kept the pictures people had already put up and just cropped them.

Seeing the previous images, I'm pleased that a couple of my photos were helpful. I am a bit skeptical, as to the benefits of improved photos. If the Numista photos are really bad, whenever we make a trade and receive a better looking coin than the Numista image, we are very happy. :D With new and improved photos, we are simply breeding disappointment. What do you think? ;)
Yes, I think that is quite true. Although it is nice to see what a coin looks at its best, you kind of get a jolt looking at your coin if it is below the condition of the Numista picture!
When you get a coin in exchange and it has a blemish that is really annoying too.
