Hey! Coool! Similarly, I found a 2012 Hong Kong 2 Dollars today. I found it somewhat odd since I read online that they stopped minting coins in 1998. Maybe there is increase demand for them?
China used to use it on their coins during the Guangxu and Xuantong eras, but the traditional Chinese calendar is almost inexistant now because they changed to the Republican calendar in 1912 and the Gregorian calendar in 1949 under Communist rule.
