Hi,
So the easiest difference between the notes is the signature on the side with the King. The signature appears fairly central underneath the temple.
There are apparently two options here (called signature 12 & 13 respectively), with photographs of each appearing in the comments on the page. I reckon the easiest way to tell them apart is the two dots that each person has under their name.
Signature 12 has the dots at the lower extreme right, whereas signature 13's dots are more central.
Once you know that, you can simply add that variety to your Numista collection.
Another way to tell would be to read the bank note serial number which appears in the lower right corner on the King's side. In the line variety, it tells you all the different versions which appear with a signature.
Sort of like saying, for example, Signature 1 banknotes start with codes A, B, C, with replacements starting X, and signature 2 banknotes always start with D or E with replacement Y. Same principle but with different characters.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for your humble time.
You're more than welcome. I know Numista can look a little intimidating at first when you start seeing varieties.
Normally it is things like signatures, serial codes, or occasionally the exact phrasing text. Once you get used to what you're looking for & where is is, you'll be fine for 99% of the time.
Usually, the way to differentiate them is shown, such as examples of the different signatures, in the comments. But if you're ever unsure, always feel free to ask. Someone will, eventually, get round to replying. 🙂
thanks for the information.
